Yeah, I have no interest in Twitter/MySpace/Blogger and I flatly refuse to get Facebook. Livejournal offers something that's basically different from all of them... it's not just blogging, but it's not quite a social networking site. "Social Blogging"? And none of the previous LJ-alikes have inspired any confidence... (Oh, look, it's like LJ, but run by people with less business sense than whoever owns LJ this year and no idea how the code works! yay!)

I think that the thing that has me excited about Dreamwidth (jaded though I am) is that it seems poised to be "Livejournal done right". And I gotta say, it would be about damn time, too.

Oh, and two points for if you're interested in checking DW out: You can sign in using OpenID (It's super-easy and doesn't involve giving them your LJ password), which allows you to subscribe and read people, comment, and use most of the site, but not post entries. Also, open beta starts on May 1st... and there's a rumour that all openID accounts on DW will get an invite code at that point.
